About Volunteer Centers of Illinois

Mission: The mission of the Volunteer Centers of Illinois (VCI) is to empower Volunteer Centers that serve Illinois to better meet the needs of their communities through information exchange, collaboration, training and support, and by promoting volunteerism.

Definition of a Volunteer Center: A Volunteer Center, as defined by the Volunteer Centers of Illinois (VCI), is affiliated with or is a non-profit organization that strives to meet the basic functions as follows:

• Connect any person or group with all types of opportunities to serve with eligible organizations,

• Build the capacity of effective volunteering

• Promote volunteerism

• Participate in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers strengthen communities.
